Happy September!

September has always been my favorite month! I think it goes back to my school days. I was always so excited to get new clothes, school supplies, and a new lunch box!  I had the best lunch box when I was growing up.  If you are a gen-Xer, you are feeling me right now.

Some of my favorites were Donny Osmond & David Cassidy, but my all-time was Wonder Woman.  She is such a badass with her Golden lasso (can force others to tell the truth), silver bracelets (can deflect any projectile), a magic sword, a powerful shield, AND a tiara that can be weaponized.

My favorite is the bracelets; ever since I was a little girl, I have loved wearing them, and I still do.

So, I am letting you in on a secret. Still, when I was working in my Wall Street office, I would start each day with my superwoman pose, hands on hips, then move up and finish with my wrists crossed to acknowledge to myself that I have the power to fight off any kind of projectile that came my way.

Before I share more, let me ask you a question:

When was the last time you felt your inner Wonder Woman?

If you haven’t felt empowered for a while, it may be that your third chakra, your solar Plexus, is out of whack. It is where your personal power comes from, and if you are feeling out of sorts, hang in there I will show you how to get your inner Wonder Women back, even if you don’t have the bracelets!

As we have been exploring our series Money & the Chakras, let’s dive in further with our next one, the third Chakra, the Solar Plexus.  If you missed the last two blogs on the root chakra and the Sacral Chakra, you can check it out here.

Understanding the Third Chakra-Your Personal Power Center

I LOVE this chakra. It is one of my chakras that is usually balanced for me (if you know me personally, you would agree about that, lol), BUT when it is off, I can REALLY feel it!

A quick recap: What are the Chakras? They are believed to be our energy centers within the body, each associated with specific aspects of our physical and emotional well-being.

The third chakra, known as the Manipura or solar plexus chakra, is particularly tied to our relationship with money. It is located in the upper abdomen and is associated with personal power, self-esteem, setting boundaries, and confidence. I call it the Wonder Woman chakra.

Its color is a radiant yellow, representing the energy of the sun. When this chakra is balanced and flowing freely, we experience a sense of self-worth, inner strength, and the ability to take action in our lives.

So ask yourself this question… Do you deserve to be wealthy?

If the answer is no, let’s start here. Self-worth and Abundance are intertwined. You’ll know when you have a balanced third chakra when you truly believe that you inherently deserve abundance and prosperity. When we believe in our worthiness, we are more likely to attract financial opportunities and make wise financial decisions.

Some other solar plexus negative inner thoughts tell you, “I am uncertain about the direction I am headed with my business.” OR

“I can’t do this on my own, or, at the other extreme, I need to do everything on my own.”

“I am not as good as I should be at managing my money.”

“I feel stuck and don’t know what to do next.”

Let’s replace those thoughts with:

“I am certain and powerful.”

“I am learning to manage my money better.”

“It is ok to ask for help.”

“I know what I want, and I have the ability to create anything I desire.”

“I am capable of taking care of my money.”

“I am proud of myself.”

Ready to get balance? Let’s start with these action steps:

Self-Awareness: Begin by examining your beliefs, thoughts, and emotions surrounding money.

  •  Are you prone to feelings of scarcity, guilt, or shame?
  •  Do you feel that if you were wealthy, you would take from others?
  •  Do you have beliefs that rich people are bad and poor people are good?

Action step: Get a journal and start journaling… do a brain dump. Identifying and acknowledging these beliefs is key.  Ask yourself the question if these beliefs are really yours and if they are serving you. Looking at your thoughts and emotions is the first step towards healing and balance.

Self-Esteem Building: Work on building your self-esteem and self-worth by setting boundaries.

  • Are you a people pleaser?
  • Do you need others’ approval to feel worthy and validated?
  • Are you able to say No, or do you feel obligated to say Yes?

Action step: Engage in practices such as “I AM affirmations, meditation, or self-compassion exercises to boost your confidence. Learn to trust yourself AND your intuition. Practice saying NO. It is okay to put yourself first!

Practice Abundance Mindset:

  • Do you suffer from a case of the “I’ll be happy when’s?  (Take a look at my last blog here for more tips.)
  • Are you constantly worrying about money?
  • Do you celebrate your wins?

Action step: Cultivate an abundance mindset by focusing on gratitude and abundance in your life. In your journal, start your morning by writing down what you are grateful for, and at night, celebrate at least one win for the day. This shift in perspective can open up new opportunities and attract positive financial experiences.

Tactical Financial Steps for the Solar Plexus

The next step is applying some tactical money strategies to help reset your money set points.

Financial IQ:

How are your investments? Have you started yet?

  • One of the key things that I see in my clients is not investing in areas that matter to them. Money needs a purpose and needs to be in alignment with your values.
  • Look for companies and causes that you feel you align with.  Finding meaning with your money is one of the most important investments you can make for your financial future.

How to set up your accounts:

  • If you haven’t yet, set up a tax, a “just in case” account, and a fun/ profit account.
  • Do you want to give back and donate some of your income or time to a worthy cause?  This will not only help from a tax standpoint but will give you a sense of personal empowerment

Let’s create your money manifesto:

  • Plan what you want in your life and your money this next year.
  • How about three years?  Five? Ten?
  • Do you want to retire or still work? Do you want to start your own business or scale the one you have?

Visualize what you want and keep a manifesting journal.  This will be one of the most powerful tools you can use for both your life and your business!
